1 It has 3 bays: Watamu, Blue Lagoon and Turtle. Sandy beaches and coral gardens are the defining features. Seabirds, as well as green and hawksbill turtles, inhabit Mida Creek with its sand flats and mangrove forest. Inland, Arabuko-Sokoke Forest Reserve is home to elephants, monkeys, and rare birdlife.
2 Established in 1968, it was one of Kenya's first marine parks. Watamu Marine Park is now part of a UN-recognized World Biosphere Reserve.
3 Visitors can enjoy the white sandy beaches, snorkeling, water skiing, windsurfing, and glass-bottomed boat tours.
4 Watamu also has different species of turtles and a turtle watch program which has managed to secure the main park's beach as a 99% viable sea turtle nesting site for endangered sea turtles.
